The word aerobic means "with oxygen", using large muscle group for a period of 10 minutes or longer while your heart rate beats faster than usual.

This is basically your cardio. Aerobic activities are usually long in duration yet lower in intensity. These activities include; walking, jogging, biking, swimming, aerobic classes or skipping.

Cardio enables the heart and  lungs to use oxygen more efficiently by increasing the oxygen available to the  body. It is also a great tool to burn calories.

Cardio does not only to burn calorie, it helps;

  1. in control of body fat.
  2. increased resistance to fatigue and extra energy.
  3. toned muscles and increase in lean body mass.
  4. decrease tension and aid in sleeping
  5. increased general stamina
  6. improves mood, reduces depression and anxiety.
It also helps in recovery on DOMS(delayed onset of muscle soreness) by bringing more oxygen rich blood to your muscle tissue improving the rebuilding process.
